Finding Agents in a Two-Dimensional Boolean STaM
نویسنده
چکیده
A simple discrete mathematical model of a space, time and matter manifold, called a STaM, is described which is intended as a framework within which to study agents and multi-agent systems. In this paper we concentrate on two-dimensional Boolean STaMs, and report implemented algorithms for detecting agents within them. A specific example STaM is given, some experimental results presented, and conclusions drawn.

Detecting Agents: the McCarthy and Hayes Martian Problem
In a well-known paper published in 1969, John McCarthy and Pat Hayes asked what criteria a Martian entering a room on Earth should use to detect any agents that might be present in the room. Here we present a simple discrete mathematical model of a space, time and matter manifold, called a STaM, as a context in which to search for agents. We focus on twodimensional Boolean STaMs, and report imp...
متن کاملAn Algorithm for Two Dimensional Cutting Stock Problems with Demand
In this paper, two-dimensional cutting stock problem with demand has been studied. In this problem, cutting of large rectangular sheets into specific small pieces should be carried out hence, the waste will be minimized. Solving this problem is important to decrease waste materials in any industry that requires cutting of sheets. In most previus studies, the demand of pieces has not been usually...

متن کاملElzaki transform method for finding solutions to two-dimensional elasticity problems in polar coordinates formulated using Airy stress functions
In this paper, the Elzaki transform method is used for solving two-dimensional (2D) elasticity problems in plane polar coordinates. Airy stress function was used to express the stress compatibility equation as a biharmonic equation. Elzaki transform was applied with respect to the radial coordinate to a modified form of the stress compatibility equation, and the biharmonic equation simplified t...
متن کاملThe Quasi-Normal Direction (QND) Method: An Efficient Method for Finding the Pareto Frontier in Multi-Objective Optimization Problems
In managerial and economic applications, there appear problems in which the goal is to simultaneously optimize several criteria functions (CFs). However, since the CFs are in conflict with each other in such cases, there is not a feasible point available at which all CFs could be optimized simultaneously. Thus, in such cases, a set of points, referred to as 'non-dominate' points (NDPs), will be...
